Information to be provided pursuant to art. 13, GDPR and consent
Your personal data provided by filling in the application form, references, CV and other documents (e.g.: letters of recommendation, letter of acceptance by the hosting Institute) will be processed – mainly with automatic means – by Fondazione Umberto Veronesi – data controller – Piazza Velasca 5, 20122 Milano (MI – Italy) to carry out activities connected to the FUV Grants for which the candidate applies. In particular, data processing will be performed for the following purposes: 1. Analysis of the application as regards the accuracy and completeness of the requirements needed to take part in the Grants, including information about scientific publications written in cooperation with other authors / researchers and by the candidate and other materials mandatory to comply with the rules of the Grants 2. Evaluation of the application by a Scientific Committee 3. Selection of the candidates who have the necessary qualifications to be entitled to the allocation of funding for the proposed research, by way of salary, to perform the activity inside the hosting structure 4. Contacts with the chosen candidates in order to obtain their acceptance of the Grant regarding the topic in which they are interested 5. Communication of the selected candidates’ personal data to the companies and structures which financially support the researcher, for their institutional purposes and the granting of the research fellowship 6. Administrative and accounting activities related to the selection and acceptance of the application 7. Compliance with rules of laws, regulations and EU legislation 8. Dissemination of personal data, images and statements in video / photographic format of the chosen candidates for their publication in the “Libro dei Grants” and on the media – on-line and off-line, for the purpose of demonstrating the initiatives and research mission of the Foundation and of the results of the Grants. All personal data are mandatory and if not provided it will not be possible to manage the application for which the candidate proposes and, consequently, the request will be discarded. The evaluation of the requirements of candidates will result in a profiling activity which does not involve an automated decision-making process. For the purposes of evaluating and selecting candidates, special categories of data (art. 9, par. 1, GDPR: “data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and the processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person's sex life or sexual orientation”) may be processed, and your explicit consent to the processing of such data is required to carry out lawfully the processing. So, we kindly ask you to give your consent by ticking the box at the bottom of this text. Data processing for the purposes from point 1 to point 7 of the list above may be lawfully carried out without the data subject’s consent, pursuant to art. 6, par. 1, letter b), GDPR, since the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject. As for the purposes set out in point 8 – even though necessary to the project – it is required to express the consent by ticking the box below. Candidates’ data will also be processed for the purposes of institutional communications and to make known and document the scientific and medical research project in which the researcher has demonstrated interest by applying for the Grants. Such communications shall be lawfully executed in accordance with the “legitimate interest” pursued by the data controller to provide information on his own activity for which the data subject has demonstrated interest and to demonstrate the constant commitment to the realisation of the mission in scientific research. Data will therefore be stored in our archives as long as we believe our institutional principles are shared by the data subject. The Foundation will no longer contact the data subject for the abovementioned purposes if the data subject objects to the processing for the said communications. As the result of this objection, personal data will be delete from our archives and processed in such a way which does not identify the data subject for statistical purposes. Data will be processed by the persons authorised for the processing and acting under the authority of the data controller and in charge of: Scientific Supervision, communication and institutional Department, administration and information technology and data security. They will also be processed by the Scientific Committee for the purposes of evaluating and determining the ranking of applications. Pursuant to articles 15-22, GDPR, writing to the data controller at the abovementioned postal address or by email dpo@fondazioneveronesi.it, you may request the list of data processors and exercise your right of consultation, modification, cancellation, and right to be forgotten, restriction of processing, data portability, and of objection to the processing of your data on legitimate grounds or for the sending of institutional and informational communications. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority to enforce your rights (for Italy – Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali – www.garanteprivacy.it).
